14:00 Uhr: Beim heutigen Prozess gegen die 50 Besetzer*innen des Hurriya-Squats waren ca. die Hälfte der Besetzer*innen anwesend und viele Unterstützer*innen vor Ort, der Saal war voll. Das Gericht verschob den Prozess und setzte den nächsten Termin für den 26. Januar 2017 an.
Wir rufen dazu auf Solidaritäts-Kampagnen für die Besetzer*innen und die betroffenen Refugees,zu starten und neue und alte Projekte zu unterstützen.
Es wird in den nächsten Tagen hier noch eine Zusammenfassung der Ereignisse und Prozesse der letzten 2 Wochen geben, ansonsten unregelmässige Updates zur Situation und den Ereignissen in Thessaloniki.
Mittwoch, 3. Juli 2016:
18:00 Uhr: Heute gab es eine vegane Vokü und eine Kundgebung mit vielen Menschen direkt vor dem ehemaligen Hurriya-Squat, das letzte Woche geräumt wurde. Direkt um die Ecke liegt auch die Kirche, die für die Räumung des Refugee-Squats Orfanotrofeio verantwortlich ist, und gegen die am Sonntag eine Aktion stattfand. Die Reaktion war ein großes Polizeiaufgebot in der Innenstadt.
Heute ist das Urteil gegen die 5 Besetzer*innen des Orfanotrofeio gefällt worden: Die 4 schwedischen und eine griechische Freund*innen wurde zu jeweils 10 Monaten Gefängnis auf 3 Jahre Bewährung verurteilt, d.h. sollten sie in den 3 Jahren eine Straftat begehen kommen sie 10 Monate ins Gefängnis. Sie können die Strafe abwenden, wenn sie (PRO PERSON!) 4200,- Euro zahlen. Zusätzlich stehen Gerichtskosten von 200 bis 400 Euro pro Person an. Die Anwält*innen sind solidarisch und wollen kein Geld. Zusätzlich wurde der Prozess gegen 3 Refugees aus dem Camp Softex bei Thessaloniki wegen Körperverletzung eines Polizisten auf den 16.8. verschoben. Die drei Freunde sind angeklagt bei Ausschreitungen und Protest nach dem Tod der schwangeren Asas Ragda nach verweigerter Behandlung durch Ärzt*innen am vergangegen Donnerstag. Zeigt euch solidarisch!

18:00 Uhr: Morgen wird der Prozess gegen 5 Besetzer*innen des Refugee-Squats Orfanotrofeio fortgesetzt. Wir werden wieder hier berichten.
Montag, 1. Juli 2016:
16:00 Uhr: Aktivist*innen die Fingerabdrücke verweigert haben bekommen 3 Jahre auf Bewährung und bei Zuwiderhandlungen direkt 6 Monate Knast. Alle anderen sind freigesprochen
15:50 Uhr: Statements werden verlesen. Es geht noch darum, dass Menschen Fingerabdrückabgabe verweigert haben und um eine Person, die verhaftet wurde obwohl sie nichts mit alle zu tun hatte.
14.20 Uhr: Viele Cops mit Schilden und Helmen blockieren den Eingang zum Gerichtssaal. Nur vereinzelt dürfen Unterstützer*innen den Saal betreten.
Aus dem Prozess: Anklage wurde nur erhoben, weil der Chef der nocrgriechischen orthodoxen Kirche in seiner Predigt dazu ein Statement abgegeben hat, sonst wären die Leute vielleicht freigelassen worden. Richter/Staatsanwalt noch sehr neutral.
12.35 Uhr: Das Plenum des besetzten Uni-Theaters hat beschlossen das heute wieder zu verschliessen, im Hinblick auf neue Besetzungen…stay updatet!
Bereits in der Nacht auf Sonntag wurde das Büro der Abrissunternehmens in Thessaloniki, die das Orfanotrofeio Squat abgerissen haben angezündet.
12.30 Uhr: Der Prozess startet. Es sind über 50 Unterstützer*innen im Gericht, die 25 Angeklagten werden im Nebensaal festgehahlten und einzeln vorgeführt in Handschellen. Es sind Refugees und Nicht-Refugees angeklagt. Die Anklage lautet auf „Störung der Kirchenruhe“, ein Vorwurf, der nach Einschätzung von Anwält*innen in Griechenland schwerer wirkt als der Vorwurf gegen die Hausbesetzter*innen letzte Woche. 10.00 Uhr: Die 25 gestern wegen der Kirchenaktion verhafteten Menschen sind immer noch in Haft, bald startet die Verhandlung in Thessaloniki vor dem Gericht. Mehr Infos in Kürze.
Sonntag, 31. Juli 2016:
14.00 Uhr: Heute wurden bei einer Protestaktion während eines Gottesdienstes in Thessaloniki Flyer gegen die Räumung des Orfanotrofeio Squats verteilt (Diese Räumung wurde von der Kirche angeordnet). Die Polizei stürmte daraufhin in die Kirche und verhaftete 25 Aktivist*innen mit dem Vorwurf der „Störung religiöser Handlungen“ etc. Sie sind momentan noch immer auf der Wache zur ED-Behandlung, nach Aussage der Polizei warten die Cops darauf, dass die Kirche Anzeige stellt.
Gleichzeitig versammelten sich viele Unterstützer*innen am neuen Squat (Theater der Uni an der Egnatia), da es Anzeichen für eine akute Räumungsbedrohung gab.

Un für den kommenden Dienstag, 2. Juli 2016, ist um 12.00 Uhr eine Solidaritätsdemontration vor dem griechischen Konsulat in Hamburg unter dem Motto „Solidarität mit den angeklagten Genoss*innen in Thessaloniki – stoppt die Repression gegen Refugees und selbstorganisierte Projekte in Griechenland!„ geplant. 11.20 Uhr: Guten Morgen! Thessaloniki schläft nicht…Heute Nacht wurden Teile der Aristoteleus Uni in Thessaloniki als Reaktion auf die Räumungen (u.a. das Nikis Squta, das ein Uni-Gebäude war und das die Uni räumen ließ) angegriffen. In Thessaloniki sind seit gestern zwei neue Gebäude besetzt: Gestern nach der Demo die Theaterschule in der Nähe der Campus an der Egnatia und die leerstehende Taverne „Lada“ im Stadtteil 40 Ekklisies. Die Besetzung stelle eine Antwort auf die Räumungen vom Vortag dar und setze sich zum Ziel, einen selbstverwalteten Raum für die Migrant_innen und ihre Kämpfe zu schaffen.
Ansonsten stehen heute Treffen der Betroffenen an, Solidaritätskampagnen stehen in den Startlöchern.

Donnerstag, 28. Juli 2016:
Nachtrag: 23.00 Uhr: Solidaritätsdemo in Thessa ist mit bis zu 600 Teilnehmer*innen laut und kraftvoll durch die Stadt gezogen und hat sich auf der Egnatia mit den protestierenden Refugees aus Softex zusammengeschlossen. Zum Ende wurde auf der Egnatia ein neues Haus besetzt für Refugees und die von Repression Betroffenen. Massive Polizeipräsenz in der Stadt.
18:00 Uhr: Ticker ist für heute beendet. Aktionen in Thessaloniki und anderen Städten aber noch lange nicht. Die Anklagen gegen die Aktivist*innen stehen noch. Am 5. August soll es weiter gehen. Haltet die Augen und Ohren offen.

16:50 Uhr: Urteil für die Leute aus Squat Nikis. Aktivist*innen aus Griechenland werden zu 4 Monaten Haft auf 2 Jahre Bewährung verurteilt und ein*e weitere*r Aktivist*in zu einer Zahlung von 5 Euro pro Tag über ein halbes Jahr. Eine Demo startet am Gericht. Um 19 Uhr soll es eine weitere Demo geben.
Gerade gibt es Auseinandersetzungen zwischen Refugees und Polizei im Camp Softex nachdem ein Mädchen gestorben ist. Menschen wollen raus aus dem Camp und eine Demo machen. Die Demo vom Gericht geht in deren Richtung um sie abzuholen.

15:10 Uhr Tumulte im Gericht. Slogans werden gerufen. Alle Aktivist*innen werden erstmal freigelassen, weil es keine Dolmetscher*innen gibt und die Polizei wahrscheinlich nicht genügend Platz für 70 Aktvist*innen hat und die Regierung den politischen Druck fürchtet, der entstehen könnte. Nächster Verhandlungstermin ist am 5. August. Die Anklagen gegen alle Freigelassenen werden aufrecht erhalten. Das Urteil zu den Aktivist*innen aus dem Squat Nikis wird gleich gesprochen.
14:50 Uhr Verhandlungen zu Squat Nikis und Orfanotrofeio sind beendet. Aktivist*innen aus dem Squat Nikis werden in Handschallen abgeführt. Es ist unklar ob heute noch ein Urteil gesprochen wird. Die Aktivist*innen aus Orfanotrofeio sind alle bis zum 3. August frei, da es keine deutschen Dolmetscher*innen gab. Die Verhandlung zu dem 3. (neusten) Squat Hurriya (58 Aktivist*innen) beginnt jetzt.
14:20 Uhr Staatsanwalt fordert weitere Haft für 6 Aktivist*innen aus Griechenland. 3 aus Italien wurden freigelassen. Gefangene vor dem Gericht seit 3 Stunden gefesselt und immer noch ohne Essen.
14:10 Uhr Starkes Statement eines Aktivisten: „Die griechische Gesellschaft toleriert Squats. Warum wird jetzt geräumt. Selbstverständlich wurden Refugees in die Squats aufgenommen. Warum werden jetzt mit Hämmern Türen eingeschlagen hinter denen auch Kindern ein Zuhause gefunden haben. Der Staat hatte den Plan alle Squats gleichzeitig zu räumen. Und jetzt? Was ist der politische Plan der Regierung?“ Es werden jetzt italienische Genoss*innen vernommen.
13:50 Uhr Gegenstand der Verhandlung ist seit 13:00 die Besetzung Nikis (Mandalideio Saal) Erst 5 von 9 und insgesamt von knapp 70 Besetzer*innen sind vernommen worden. Draußen sitzen noch ca. 60 Aktivist*innen in Handschellen und aneinander gefesselt. Es gibt Fragen der Staatsanwaltschaft dazu wieviel Refs in den Squats gewohnt haben und ähnliches.
Zitat einer Aktivist*in: „Frau Richterin wir haben wohl unterschiedliche Meinungen, denn öffentlich ist alles was für die Gesellschaft nützlich ist.“
13:30 Uhr News aus der Verhandlung. Richterin sehr negativ – hört kaum zu – blockt Fragen. Dritter und letzter Zeuge wird befragt.
13:00 Uhr News aus dem Gericht: Anwält*innen hatten vor dem Verfahren keinen Zugang zu den Akten. Zeug*innen berichten, dass die Uni in der Vergangenheit angefragt wurde ob sie ihre Gebäude (Squat Nikis / Mandalideio Saal) für Refugees zur Verfügung stellen würden. Wenn sie gebraucht worden wären, dann wären Aktivist*innen wieder gegangen. Keine Reaktion der Uni. Squat Nikis war seit 2009 besetzt und seit kurzem nur mit und für Refugees genutzt. Die Räumung geschah ohne Vorankündigung seitens der Polizei.
12:35 Uhr Die Verfahren der ersten 10 Gefangenen hat angefangen.
12:15 Uhr Gefangene wurden in 20er Gruppen aneinandergekettet ins Gericht gebracht. Es gibt viel und laute Unterstützung drinnen und draußen. Menschen sind durch die Bullenketten gerannt und haben Leute umarmt. Riotcops sind recht aggro – Heli über dem Gerichtsgebäude. Das Syriza-Büro ist weiterhin besetzt.
11:30 Uhr Über 100 Unterstützer*innen am Gericht. 40 Leute im Gericht – der Rest wird nicht reingelassen. Alles sind laut und unbequem. Hunderte Riotcops vorm Gericht. Die Gefangenen kommen gleich. Vermutung, dass sie heute nicht rauskommen, da in der Wache schon das Abendessen geplant wurde. Die Demo mit ca. 100 Menschen vom Syriza-Partei-Büro ist auf dem Weg zum Gericht.
9:00 Uhr Lage ruhig. das Syriza-Büro bleibt weiterhin bis zum Gerichtstermin besetzt. Die geräumten Squats sind von der Polizei abgeriegelt. Viele Cops in der Innenstadt unterwegs. Demo startet um 11 Uhr
21:30 Uhr Es gab 9 Verhaftungen in Orfanotrofeio-Squat, 5 im Mandalideio-Squat und 58 im den neuen. Den Verhafteten von Orfanotrofeio und Mandalideio wird Störung der öffentlichen Ordnung, den anderen 58 zusätzlich Sachbeschädigung in Höhe von 17000 Euro vorgeworfen. Eine Person verweigert die Angabe von Personalien. Alle Refugees sind frei.
20:00 Uhr Aktivist*innen werden zur Anklageverkündigung gefahren und dann in einer Polizeiwache eingesperrt.
18:00 Uhr noch ca. 55 Aktivist*innen in der Gesa. Kontakt mit Anwälten gestaltet sich schwierig. Eine Anwältin konnte Kontakt aufnehmen. Weiterhin unklar was den Aktivist*innen vorgeworfen wird.
16:00 Uhr Aktivist*innen ohne Zugang zu Essen und Anwälten in einer Tiefgarage eingesperrt. Morgen um 12 Uhr gibt es eine kollektive Anhöherung vor dem Richter. Mehrtägige Haftstrafe ohne richterliche Verfügung wird von der Polizei angedroht

14:00:At the trial against the 50 squatters of the Hurriya-squat today there were about half of the accused squatters and many supporters, the hall was full. The judge postponed the trial and announced the 26th of january 2017 as next date.
We call for solidarity campaigns for the squatters and the refugees and to support new and old projects.
In the next days there will be a summary of the events and trials of the last two weeks, furthermore non-regularily updates about the situation and about events in Thessaloniki.

18:00: Today there was a vegan kitchen and a demo with many people in front of the former hurriya squat, that was evicted last week. Directly around the corner is the church, that is responsible for the eviction of the Orfanotrofeio refugee squat and against which there has been an action on last sunday. the reaction was a massive police presence in the city.
Today there was the decision against the 5 quatters of the Orfanotrofeio: The 4 Swiss and one Greek friends are sentenced to 10 months of prison on 3 years probation each, so if they get caught in this time for some crime they will go to prison for 10 months. The alternative is to pay 4200,- euros (PER PERSON!). Additionally there are costs for the trial of 200-400 euros per person. the lawyers are solidarish and don`t want any money. Additionally the trial against 3 refugees from the camp Softex close to Thessaloniki accused of violence against a policeman was postponend to 16.8. The three frienda are accused of violating a policeman during protests and fights after the death of the pregnant Asas Ragda after not being treated by doctors on past Thursday. Show your solidarity!

14.20 Uhr: Many full armed Cops with helmets are blocking the entrance to the room, where the trial is taking place. Only from time to time sigle supporters are allowed to enter the room.
From the process: the trial is continued and the people are accused because the chief of the northern-greek orthodox church made a statement in his speech in church about the case. otherwiese the people could have been released. judge seems to be neutral.
12.35 Uhr: The plenary of the squatted uni-theater decided to leave it again, concerning new squattinmg the next days…stay updatet!
Already in the night to Sunday the bureau of the company that was responsible for the destruction of the Orfanotrofeio was attacked and burned.
12.30 Uhr: The Process ist starting. There are around 50 supporters in the court, the 25 accused comrades are being held in a room close and being brought to the judge single. Thwey are refugees and not-refugees. They are accused of „disturbing the peace of the church“, an accusation that seems to be heavier than the accusation against the squatters last week, as Greek lawyers say. Show your solidarity!
10.00 Uhr: the 25 people that have been arrested yesterday in Thessaloniki during the action against the Church are still in prison and there is the trial going on right now. More infos will follow soon.
Sunday, 31. Juli 2016:
14.00 Uhr: Today there has been a protest action during a church ceremony in Thessaloniki during which flyer have been spread in the church against the eviction of the squat Orfanotrofeio (this eviction was frced by the Church). During the protest the police stormed into the church and arrested 25 activists with the accusation of „disturbing religious acts“ etc. They are currently on the police station for finerprints etc, police said they are waiting for an accusation of the church.
Same time a lot of supporters gahthered at the new squat (uni-theater at egnatia), because there were signs for an eviction by police

In Thessaloniki there are two new squats since yesterday. Yesterday after the Demo the theater school close to the University Campus at Egnatia was squatted and the empty taverne „Lada“ in the city part of 40 Ekklisies. The squats are an answer on the evictions the day before and the aim is to create a selforganized space for migrants and their struggles.
Furthermore there will be meetings of the evicted people today and aolidarity campaigns are starting.

Appendix. 23.00: the solidarity demonstration in Thessa has moved loud and powerful through Thessaloniki with up to 600 participants and gathered with protesting refugees from Softex on Egnatia. in the end there a new bulding for refugees was squatted at Egnatia. massive poice presence in the city.
18.00: ticker is ended for today. but not the actions in thessaloniki and other cities. the accusations against the accused are still active. on the 3rd and 5th of august when the trials will be we will go on. keep eyes and ears open.

3:10 pm tumults in the court. slogans are being jelled. Activists are set free for now, because of a loack of translators, propably not enough space fpr 70 people in the police department and because the government fears political pressure. Next date of the court hearing is 5th August, they hold on to the accusations. Sentence for the Nikis is presented in an instant.
2:50 pm hearing about Nikis and Orfanotrofeio is finished. Activists from the squat Nikis are lead away in handcuffs. It’s unclear if a sentence is spoken today. Activists from Orfanotrofeio are set free until 3rd August because they had no german translators. Hearing about the new squat Hurriya (affects 58 activists) starts now.
2:20 pm Prosecutor demands detention for another 6 activists from Greece. 3 people from Italy were set free. Arrested people before the court house still chained and without food.
2:10 pm strong statement of one activist: „The greek society tolerated squats. Why are evictions taking place now. Obviously refugees were included in the squats. Why are doors behind which also children found shelter are hammered in now. The state planned to evict all squats at the same time. And what’s now? What is the plan of the government now?“.
Italian comrades are heard at the moment.
1:50 pm since 1 pm the trial is about the occupation of Nikis (Mandalideio Hall). Only 5 of the 9 accused people were heard jet (of a total of 70 squatters). Outside theres 50 activists sitting in handcuffs. Prosecutors ask things like how many refugees were living in the squats.
Quote from one activist: „Dear Judge, we seem to have different opinions. Public is everything, what is useful for the society.“
1:30 pm News from the trial: Judge is very negative, does barely listen, blocks questions. Third and final witness is consulted.
1:00 pm lawyers did not have access to the files before the trial. witnisses are saying during the trial, that in the past there has been an offical demand to the university asking if they could use their buildings, because they were empty. if they would have been needed, they would have left the buildings. No reaction from the university followed. Finally the occupation of the building, which stayed for a long time and gave many people a shelter. The eviction of the building took place without announcement of the police.
12:35 pm for the first 10 people, the trial started.
12:15 pm The Arrestet were brought inside the court, chained in groups of 20. There is a lot of support inside and outside, people ran through the cop chains to hug the arrested. Riot cops are not amused, helicopters above the court house. Syriza office stays occupied.

9:30 pm 9 people were arrested in orfanotrofeio squat and5 in mandalideio squat. they are accused to have disrupted the public order. 58 people arrested in the new squat, they are additionally accused of damage to property
